Tried to get a nice Christmas card photo of my dog, ended up with 30 blurry tongue shots
I spent like 45 minutes with a squeaky toy and a bag of treats, but my golden retriever was too excited and just kept licking the camera lens. Learned that dogs don't care about your holiday card plans, they just want to eat the props. Has anyone else given up on formal pet photos and just accepted the chaos?

Oh wow, I saw this thing online about how dogs actually see blurry movement better than sharp images, so maybe those tongue shots are what they see us as... just a bunch of blurry happy blobs. I gave up on formal pet photos years ago after my cat knocked over the entire fake snow set I'd set up, now I just snap whatever random derpy face they make and call it a day. Honestly, the candid messy ones get way more laughs from family than any posed shot ever did.

Did you end up using any of those blurry tongue shots for the card anyway? I'm asking because I did the same thing last year with my corgi and my sister told me it looked like a UFO abduction photo, but honestly I think it was the best card I've ever sent out. Did your family actually prefer the chaos or did they give you a hard time about it?
