Tried one of those fancy pet portrait sessions last month, got this blurry demon photo instead

My wife booked us a session with this photographer who talked up their gear and experience. Dog was running around the studio the whole time, photographer kept saying "hold still" like that was gonna happen. Every single shot came out blurry or with the dog's tongue halfway out. The one we got back looks like a cryptid caught on a trail cam. $200 for a photo I could have taken on my flip phone. Has anyone actually gotten a good pet portrait or is it all a scam?

Lmao I mean $200 for a blurry cryptid photo is kinda hilarious though. Is it really that serious? Just tell people it's an abstract art piece and call it a day.

nobody warns you that 90% of pet photography is just waiting for the animal to do something and half the time the "something" is a blur or a weird face. honestly @jamieperez is right about the abstract art angle but I read somewhere that pet photographers usually shoot at like 1/2000 shutter speed to freeze motion and if this guy didn't do that he's just bad at his job. tbh the tongue half out thing kinda sounds charming in a chaotic way but not for $200. I'd ask for a reshoot or your money back cause that's not on you or your dog, that's on the setup.
