Rant: Falling for that $80 'professional' pet photo session

I paid $80 for a 'professional' pet portrait session at a studio last month thinking I'd get one decent shot of my dog, but all 30 photos came out blurry or she's looking away in every single one. The photographer blamed my dog for being 'too energetic' and refused a refund, so I basically threw away $80 on what looked like a toddler with a smartphone. Has anyone else wasted money on a bad pet shoot or found a better way to get a good picture without the hassle?

My neighbor paid a wedding photographer $300 and got back photos where the bride looked like she was blinking in every single one.

Wait, was the bride actually blinking or is the photographer just that bad at timing? lol I mean $300 is still a decent amount for wedding photos, especially if they're supposed to be capturing the big moments. But honestly you get what you pay for sometimes, most legit wedding photographers start around $1500-$3000 for a reason. That $300 person probably shoots with a cheap camera and doesn't know how to use burst mode or a fast shutter speed.
