Got through a 20-minute torture scene without walking out
I used to just shut off any movie that dragged on too long. Last week I sat through that 20-minute desert walking scene in 'The Green Inferno' remake without bailing. What changed is I told myself I'd see the whole movie for once, even if it sucked. Has anyone else pushed through a terrible movie and felt weirdly proud about it?

My friend Mark sat through the entire "Gigli" movie back in 2003, the one with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. He said it felt like being stuck in traffic for two hours with no end in sight. Partway through, he actually timed how long each scene lasted on his watch. By the end, he wasn't even watching the movie anymore, he was just committed to proving he could finish it. He walked out of the theater feeling like he'd earned some kind of badge of honor, even though he hated every second. He still brings it up any time someone mentions bad movies, like it's a war story or something.

Oh man, I totally get that badge of honor feeling from suffering through a truly awful movie.
