Debate: Is 'The Room' actually a masterpiece or just a train wreck? I can't decide anymore

Rewatched The Room last week with my friend Sarah at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, and we got into this huge argument about whether it's genuinely bad or accidentally brilliant. Like, Tommy Wiseau's line 'You are tearing me apart, Lisa!' is so bad it's good, but the random football scene in suits feels like it belongs in a completely different movie. What side do you guys fall on? Do you think there's a fine line between cult classic and total garbage, or is it all just a mess?

It's both. That's the magic. The football scene proves it's a train wreck but the weird sincerity makes it a masterpiece. Can't be one without the other.

So we're calling it a beautiful disaster now?
