Agency owner tried to sell me on a $500 strategy deck, my 3-page doc beat it
Last month a bigger shop in Austin pitched us their "growth framework" for $500 a month. Their deck was 40 slides of fancy charts and zero actual steps. I threw together a 3-page Google Doc with a simple content calendar and a Facebook ad tweak for one client. That doc landed 2 new leads in 2 weeks while their deck sat in our inbox. Has anyone else had a client pick your scrappy plan over a shiny agency package?
Thats so satisfying to hear. Big shops love to charge for fancy charts that just restate what you already know. Back when I ran a small team, we beat a $2k proposal with a single page of bullet points and a referral ask. The client said ours felt like we actually knew their business instead of just their industry.
