Well, tbh it's not just at high speed. Lose steering in a tight channel even going slow and you're in trouble.

That cable snaps at 30 knots and he loses all steering. @taylorw30 is right, it's a recipe for trouble. A real friend makes the hard call, even if he gets mad. You gotta pick his life over his mood.
