Tried coworking at a cafe in Chiang Mai last week and it backfired hard
I thought I'd save money by working from this popular cafe near the old city instead of my usual spot. The wifi kept cutting out every 20 minutes and I had to keep buying drinks to stay. Spent like 200 baht on coffee and got almost nothing done. Has anyone found a cafe in Chiang Mai that actually works for a full workday?

The Nimman co-working spot on Soi 11 has a deal for 100 baht for the whole day and the wifi actually holds up... I switched there after getting burned by the same cafe trap you mentioned. Grab a desk near the back wall for the strongest signal and you'll be set.

Man I feel this. The whole "just buy one drink and camp out" thing is a myth in Chiang Mai unless you find one of those co-working cafes with power strips everywhere. I gave up on the old city spots and just started working from a shared space near Nimman that costs like 50 baht per hour. Way less stressful and the wifi actually works.

Aw man, I gotta admit I used to be one of those people who thought you could just nurse a single latte for four hours and call it a day. I was like "hey, I'm supporting the local economy, right?" But after one too many baristas giving me the death stare while I plugged in my laptop, I gave up on that fantasy real quick. Now I just pay the 50 baht at a shared space and actually get work done without feeling like I'm stealing from someone. The coffee shop vibe is nice but not when you're constantly watching your back for staff with empty plates.
