PSA: I had to pick between a cheap hostel in Bangkok or a quiet apartment for a month
I was in Thailand last month and my budget was tight, so I had to choose between a $10-a-night hostel with a shared workspace or a $600 private apartment. I went with the apartment for the quiet, but the internet was so slow I couldn't do video calls. Has anyone else had to pick between saving money and having a reliable place to work, and what did you do?

Ugh that's the worst kind of trade-off. It feels like you can never win, you either get the noise and chaos for cheap or pay up for peace but get stuck with some other deal-breaking flaw. I see this everywhere now, where the one thing you actually need is always the missing piece, like quiet apartments with bad wifi or cheap flights at impossible hours. You basically have to guess which problem you can live with.

Yeah I just pick the flaw I can fix myself.

Modern life is just choosing which flavor of bad you can stand.
