Picked a co-living space over a private Airbnb in Bali. Regretted it hard.

Had a choice last month between a $400 co-living spot in Canggu and a $600 private villa a bit further out. Went with the co-living for the community vibe. Big mistake. Shared kitchen was a mess, wifi died every afternoon, and the constant social pressure killed my work flow. Anyone else find co-living spaces just don't work for actual deep work days?

300 bucks difference actually goes a long way in Bali when you factor in the noise and interruptions killing your focus time. In my experience the cheaper co-living spots attract people who aren't there to work seriously, they treat it like a hostel with laptops. Your mileage may vary but a private space with solid wifi beats forced socializing every time when deadlines are breathing down your neck.

Three months in Ubud last year. Paid 350 a month for a private villa with a pool. Best decision. @leet32 got it right about the cheap co-living spots. They're basically hostels now. People drink all night then complain about wifi speed at noon.
