My laptop charger fried itself in a Chiang Mai cafe last Tuesday, leaving me with 7% battery and a client call in 20 minutes.

I ended up sprinting to a coworking space I'd never used, paid 300 baht for a day pass just to borrow an outlet, and made the call with 2% to spare, which made me realize I should probably start carrying a universal adapter and a backup battery pack, something you'd think I'd have figured out after 3 years of this.

Was it really that big of a deal though?

Feel your pain, that's a proper nightmare scenario right there.

The real cost is the 300 baht day pass. That's like six really good street food meals you just burned on an outlet.
