My internet speed in Chiang Mai went from 5 Mbps to 50 Mbps in a year

I rented the same apartment two years in a row, and the difference was crazy. The building finally upgraded its whole network infrastructure after enough digital nomads complained. It completely changed how I work, I can actually do video calls now without everything freezing. Has anyone else seen a city's infrastructure improve that fast?

Adapting to make money" - they upgraded their internet, not their soul. It's not that deep. Chiang Mai's been trying to court digital nomads for years, that's just business. People act like 50 Mbps is some kind of revolution. It's decent internet in 2024, not a lifestyle transformation.

Guess the building finally realized we aren't all just checking email.

Hold on, that's a pretty bad take. A lot of people still need a real office to get serious work done, away from home distractions. The building didn't "realize" anything, it's just adapting to keep making money. This push for everyone to be remote ignores how many jobs and teams actually work better together in person.
