My buddy in Chiang Mai swore by a $300 local SIM plan for remote work. It was a total waste.

He said unlimited data, no throttling, perfect for video calls. Got it, tried to join a client meeting from a cafe, connection dropped four times in an hour. What's your go-to for reliable mobile data in Southeast Asia without breaking the bank?

@perez.barbara that sounds maddening. I'd grab a local prepaid eSIM from AIS or Dtac for like $10-$15, then refill as needed, runs solid for video calls.

That "unlimited, no throttling" promise is the biggest lie in telecom. I got burned in Bangkok with a similar deal that was useless after 5pm. My go-to now is just buying a smaller local data pack and then topping it up when it runs low, it's way more reliable.

Four times in an hour? That's brutal.
