I think coworking spaces are overrated for actual productivity
I tried the whole coworking desk thing for 3 months in Chiang Mai and honestly it did nothing for my focus. The constant background chatter and people walking past made it hard to get into a flow state. What actually worked for me was renting a cheap studio apartment with a separate desk area for $250 a month instead of paying $150 for a hot desk. I get more done in 4 hours at home than I did in 8 hours at a coworking spot. Has anyone else ditched the coworking trend and found better results working from their rental?

Honestly the social pressure to network there kinda kills deep work for me.

Whoa wait, you spent $250 on a whole studio apartment with a separate desk area? That's actually wild to me because I've been paying $200 a month for a hot desk in a coworking spot in Bali and now I feel like I'm getting ripped off. I mean, for just $50 more you got your own private space with zero distractions and probably way better internet. I'm genuinely shocked people are still paying those coworking prices when you can just rent a whole place to yourself for barely more. The constant chatter and people walking by really does mess with your head, I never could get anything done with that going on either. Maybe I need to look into this studio apartment idea instead of throwing money at these coworking places.
