I finally stopped using coworking spaces after a conversation in Chiang Mai

A guy at Punspace told me I was burning $300 a month for internet I could get at any cafe. He said he rented a basic apartment with fiber for $200 and used the extra $100 for coffee and snacks. I laughed it off at first but then I added up my bills. 3 months of coworking memberships cost me $900. That covered nearly 2 months of rent in my current place. I switched to a $50 unlimited data SIM and work from parks now. Has anyone else found a better setup than paying for desks?

Don't you miss having a proper chair and reliable power though?

You ever have a power outage right in the middle of a late-night online game? I was playing some old RPG last summer, storm knocked everything out, and I just sat there in the dark on my creaky wooden stool for like 20 minutes until I realized the microwave clock was blinking back at me. I still haven't fixed that stool, by the way. But honestly, who needs a proper chair when you can just stack phone books and a couch cushion?
