Heard a guy in a co-working space say he makes $8k a month just managing social media for 3 small businesses

I was grabbing coffee at this co-working spot in Chiang Mai last week and overheard a British dude bragging about his setup. He said he works maybe 15 hours a week and spends the rest surfing. It got me thinking about whether I should pivot my freelance writing gig to something more stable like that. Has anyone here actually managed multiple client accounts while bouncing between countries?

A buddy of mine tried this exact thing while bouncing around SE Asia. He landed three small business accounts for Instagram management and thought he had it made. First month went fine, then two clients had crises at the same time - one needed urgent posts because a product got recalled, the other wanted a whole rebrand campaign by Friday. He was in a hostel in Vietnam with spotty wifi trying to fix both. He managed but said it was way more than 15 hours those weeks and the stress wasn't worth the travel vibe. He ended up dropping down to one client and just doing basic freelance writing again. So it can work, but the whole "set it and forget it" thing seems like a dream more than reality.

Wait, they wanted a whole rebrand campaign by Friday? Like a full visual overhaul in a week? That's insane. I would've just laughed and said sorry can't do that from a hostel.
