Went back to my old jobsite after 8 years, the way they frame doors now threw me off

I pulled up to a remodel in Austin last week and the crew was using these metal brackets instead of shims and nails, took me a solid 10 minutes staring at the gap before I figured out what was different, anyone else feel like a dinosaur when they see the new methods?

Man, they're basically building with erector sets now! I saw a contractor on YouTube showing those brackets and it took me a minute too, but honestly, they look way faster than fiddling with shims all day.
