The GC who told me to stop using my laser level for everything
Last month on a remodel in Austin, this old GC watched me set my laser for literally every wall and laughed, said "you're gonna go blind trusting that thing, use a chalk line for the rough stuff." I fought it for a week, then tried his way on a tricky angled ceiling and it saved me 3 hours of rework. Anyone else get called out by a seasoned pro for leaning too hard on tech?
Wait, why would you stop using the laser when it's clearly working for you? Sounds like the old guy just wanted to feel right about his chalk line, and one ceiling doesn't prove his way is better for everything. Half those seasoned pros still do things the hard way out of habit, not because it's actually faster.
