The concrete guy in Tulsa told me my control joints looked like I drew them with a ruler
I poured a 12x24 patio slab last month for a customer out near Broken Arrow and thought I did a pretty clean job on the joints. The finisher they hired to stamp the edge took one look and said "son, those lines are straighter than a tax form but that's the problem, they read like machine cuts." Turns out real concrete has tiny wobbles and if you don't break the line just right it looks fake against the texture. Now I drag a scrap of 2x4 along the groove instead of a straightedge and the joints blend in way better. Anyone else had a finisher hand them a tip that sounded like an insult at first?
