Spent $250 on a job site radio that got soaked and died
Bought a heavy duty radio for a big outdoor concrete pour last month, thought it could handle anything. Left it out overnight and a surprise storm rolled through, water got into the charging port. Now it just makes a weird buzzing sound and won't turn on. Anyone know a truly waterproof brand that can survive getting left outside?

Did you check if the warranty covers water damage?

Wait, they actually tried to blame condensation instead of water damage? That feels like a new low for warranty BS honestly. Companies will come up with any excuse not to pay out, but blaming the weather is just ridiculous. Makes you wonder if they even test these products before slapping a "waterproof" label on them.

Man, that "weird buzzing sound" is the worst, it's like the electronics version of a death rattle. Emery965 has a point about the warranty, but in my experience those always have more fine print than a phone contract. This reminds me of the time my buddy's supposedly tough Bluetooth speaker died because he left it on a damp patio table overnight, and the company tried to blame it on "condensation," not direct water. Makes you wonder if any of them are truly waterproof or if they all just hope you never test it.
