Showerthought: My biggest client meeting almost fell apart because of a bad phone line

I was pitching a kitchen remodel in Tacoma over a video call last Thursday. Halfway through showing the 3D model, my client's audio cut out completely. I could see him talking but heard nothing. I immediately switched to typing in the chat, asking him to call my cell. We finished the walkthrough on a regular phone call while I shared my screen. The whole hiccup added maybe five minutes total. Has anyone else had a crucial tech fail right when you needed everything smooth?

My mic died during a final interview once.

Ugh, that's the worst. It feels like tech is getting more fragile, not less. My smart lights go offline if my router blinks, and my work laptop updates at the worst possible times. It's like we're all just one glitch away from everything falling apart.

Heard about a friend whose laptop blue screened right as she was about to present to a room full of investors at a big pitch event... She just laughed it off and pulled out her phone to show the slides instead. They actually said the casual recovery made her seem more confident.
