PSA: That 'quick 30 minute' tub surround demo took me 6 hours

I told a homeowner last week I'd rip out their old fiberglass tub surround before lunch. Figured it would be a simple pry-and-pull deal, maybe an hour tops. Nope. The previous guy had glued every single panel with construction adhesive AND screwed it into the studs with like 40 rusted drywall screws. I spent 3 hours just fighting the panels off the wall, then another 2 hours scraping off all that dried glue so the new stuff would sit flat. By the time I finally got done, it was 4pm and I'd missed two other calls. Has anyone else run into a 'simple' job that turned into an all-day nightmare?

Forty rusted screws AND construction adhesive? Man that's brutal. That guy was basically building a fallout shelter instead of a shower surround. How many tools did you break getting it all out?
