Just had a client try to change the scope after the contract was signed

I was on a kitchen remodel in Springfield last week, drywall already up. The homeowner came in and said, 'Actually, we want to move the sink to the other wall.' That's a full replumb and a change to the cabinet layout. I had to pull out our signed contract, point to the line item list, and explain that wasn't included. It got tense for a minute. How do you guys handle scope creep without burning the bridge?

Yeah, and grace419 is right, it's one of those things that just builds up until it feels huge.
