Just heard a customer call our pork chops 'factory meat'

I was wrapping an order yesterday and a guy at the counter told his friend our pork chops were 'just factory meat, you know?' I had to bite my tongue. Those chops came from a farm just 30 miles away, and we broke down the whole hog ourselves last Thursday. It got me thinking about how we talk about what we do. How do you guys explain the difference between your shop and the big box stores to customers who don't know?

You broke down the whole hog yourself last week? That's the opposite of factory meat. Simon's take is way off. That customer has no clue what he's talking about. The work you put in is real, and it matters. How do you even begin to correct someone who's that misinformed?

Remember that time my uncle tried to tell me my garden tomatoes were from the store? He saw them on the counter and just assumed. Some folks have a set idea in their head and facts just bounce off.

Honestly, is it that big a deal? Some people just call all store meat "factory" stuff without thinking. Maybe he just meant it wasn't hunted in the wild.
