Just dropped $400 on a band saw and it's been a total nightmare
Picked up a used Hobart band saw from a guy in Denver last month for $400, thought I was getting a steal. First week the blade kept slipping off the wheels no matter how much I tensioned it. Took it apart yesterday and found the lower wheel bearing is completely shot. Anyone else get burned buying used gear from Facebook Marketplace?

Bought a "mint condition" table saw once that came with a free bag of dog hair in the motor.

Oh come on, @nina_sullivan61, you can't deny that dog hair MOTOR mod adds some character! Mint condition just means "works when plugged in" half the time anyway. Plus, free pet hair is basically a bonus filter for the sawdust.
