Blew $60 on a fancy boning knife that chipped on the first week
Picked up a high-end German boning knife from a shop in Denver last month, thought I was treating myself. Third shift in, I was trimming a chuck roll and a chunk of the blade just popped off near the tip. Tried to get a warranty claim through, but the fine print says it's not covered for bone contact on commercial use - even though it's literally a boning knife. Anybody else have a pricey blade let them down like that, or did I just get a dud?

Wait, were you using it on bone though? Most boning knives are meant for cutting meat off the bone, not hacking through the bone itself. That's more of a cleaver or a saw kinda job. Might be the issue right there.

@miles54 nailed it, people grab the wrong tool for the job all the time and then blame the tool. Same thing happens with people using a flathead screwdriver as a pry bar.
