Appreciation post: the $180 cleaver I almost returned saved my whole Saturday rush
Bought a 6 lb cleaver from a guy at the meat supply shop on 3rd in Columbus about 8 months ago and I seriously thought about taking it back the first week because it felt heavy and wrong in my hand. Fast forward to last Saturday when our band saw died mid shift and I had to break down 14 pork shoulders by hand, that heavy thing went through bone like it was nothing and got me out only 25 minutes late. My old cheap knife would've had me there till midnight. Anyone else got a tool they hated at first and then it turned into your go-to?
