Why does nobody talk about frozen veggie stir fry mix?

I grabbed a 2 dollar bag of frozen mixed veggies from the Aldi in Portland last week because fresh peppers were 3 bucks each. Threw it in a hot pan with some soy sauce and leftover rice, and honestly it beat most takeout I've had. The trick is to dry them off first so they actually brown instead of steaming. Has anyone else found a cheap frozen hack that turned out way better than expected?

Try adding a spoonful of peanut butter and a splash of sriracha to that same pan next time, it turns into a dead simple pad thai sauce that costs like a dollar total. Then toss in a handful of frozen edamame or a beaten egg and you got a full meal that beats any greasy takeout box.
