The 87 cent can of refried beans looked better than my 3 hour chili

I slow cooked chuck roast, three kinds of dried peppers, and hand mashed beans for a full Saturday, then a can of the cheap stuff from the corner market made my batch look like wet dog food by comparison, so has anyone else had a store brand win that made you question your whole recipe?

Give the canned stuff credit, it's consistent. Your effort doesn't always equal better.
