Shoutout to my local discount grocery for the 10 cent egg day last Tuesday
Honestly I almost skipped it because I figured it would be a madhouse but I went at 9am and it was chill. Picked up 4 dozen eggs for 40 cents total, plus they had a bin of slightly bruised bell peppers for 50 cents a bag. Made a huge frittata for dinner and meal prepped breakfast burritos for the whole week for like 6 bucks. Has anyone else found good deals at those odd discount grocery spots, or is it just my area?
My buddy hit up one of those Amish discount stores last month and came back with a trunk full of stuff. They had 5 pound bags of potatoes for a dollar, canned goods with dented labels for a quarter each, and a whole flat of yogurt cups that were a day past the sell by date for 2 bucks. He said the trick is to go right when they open on a weekday, same as you. He made like 3 weeks of soup and froze it all. Dude ate for cheap for a month straight.
