Okay, I know everyone says dried beans are the only way to save money... but I tried making a big pot from scratch last Tuesday and it was a disaster.

Yeah but I think the real secret nobody talks about is the humidity in your kitchen. Last week I tried making cookies on a rainy day and they came out totally flat and greasy compared to when I make them on a dry day. Same recipe, same oven temp, but the dough just spreads way more when the air is heavy. My grandma used to say you gotta adjust your flour by like a tablespoon depending on the weather, and I always thought she was crazy but maybe she was onto something. Idk, just something to think about if your cookies keep coming out weird.
