My rice cooker lid seal split open mid-cook last Tuesday and I ended up with starchy water all over the counter.
Had to fish out the rice with a strainer and finish it in a pot, so now I'm wondering if anyone has found a decent replacement seal that doesn't cost more than the cooker itself.

Man that is such a bummer, I'd be so annoyed cleaning that mess up. Were you able to find any replacement seals that fit properly?

It's funny, I've actually been wondering if the real issue here isn't just the seal itself but how these newer gaskets are made. I've seen a lot of people in the off-road community say the aftermarket seals are actually better than OEM now because they're using a different rubber compound that's more flexible. Might be worth looking into those instead of hunting down exact original parts, especially if you're in a hotter climate where the old seals just get brittle faster. Just my two cents, but sometimes the replacement parts are an upgrade, not a downgrade.
