My friend told me I was wasting money on pre-cut veggies

I used to buy those bagged stir fry kits. $5 a bag. Thought it was fine. My friend saw my receipt and said I was paying $3 extra just for someone to chop carrots. Called me lazy. So I started buying whole veggies. A head of cabbage is $1.50. Carrots are like a dollar a bag. Takes me 10 minutes to chop everything for the week now. Anyone else get called out for a stupid habit like that?

I get what you're saying but I dunno, I kinda look at it different. My time is worth something too. If I'm tired after work and I can spend 3 extra bucks to save 10 minutes of chopping, that's a no-brainer for me. Not everybody has the energy or the knife skills to prep a whole week's worth of veggies without ending up with a bruised finger and a pile of uneven chunks. Plus, those pre-cut bags keep me from ordering takeout because I'm too beat to cook. So really, that extra cost might be saving me money in the long run.

Not everybody has the energy or the knife skills" - that hits home for me. I started buying pre-cut onions and peppers a while back after too many late nights staring at a whole squash with zero will to deal with it. It honestly changed my cooking habits, so I say go for what keeps you out of the drive thru.
