Hit my 50th batch of chili this weekend without a single fail
I started making chili every other Sunday to stretch my grocery budget about two years ago, and I just realized I've made 50 batches without messing up a single one. It's not fancy, just beans, tomatoes, cheap ground beef, and whatever chili powder is on sale, but it costs me under $8 for a week's worth of lunches. Anyone else got a go-to cheap meal they can make in their sleep?

Oh come ON, you really think that's a win? All that chili every other week for TWO years straight? You're basically living in a ground beef time loop. I bet you've got a permanent chili smell seeping out of your pores by now. I'd rather spend the extra cash on something with actual variety like a stir fry or tacos, even if it costs double.

But you gotta think about what happens when the economy tanks and that stir fry costs twice as much... chili is a skill that keeps paying off even when prices jump. I've seen too many people panic over grocery bills while I'm just scooping out another week of lunch for pocket change. That kind of stability is worth more than variety when times get tight.
