Bought a giant bag of rice from the bulk bin and didn't check the price per pound first
Ended up paying $18 for 20 pounds because it was some fancy organic jasmine when the store brand was right there for half that, has anyone else gotten burned by bulk bins looking cheaper than they actually are?

I actually see this a little differently, you know? That "got burned on organic quinoa" comment kind of sums up the thing I push back on. In my experience, the price per pound for bulk stuff isn't really hidden or tricky, you just have to look at the little tag on the bin handle or the scale area. Most stores I've been to print it pretty clearly, it's just small and easy to miss when you're in a hurry. I've definitely grabbed the wrong thing before too, but I wouldn't call it a trap so much as me not paying attention. Your mileage may vary, but I think the real lesson is just to slow down for two seconds and check the unit price before you scoop.
