Vent: counted 14 guys in my chair last Saturday who asked for the same faded mullet, when did this come back?
I keep a little tally sheet near my station for my own curiosity, mostly to track what cuts pay the bills from week to week. This past Saturday I worked 9 hours and did 23 cuts, and 14 of them asked for some version of a mullet, faded on the sides with length in the back. Two years ago I might have done 14 mullets in a whole season. What gets me is the ages, it used to be just the older guys who never let it go, but now it is guys in their 20s with photos saved on their phones. Last Tuesday a kid pulled up a picture of some soccer player from the 80s and said make it look like this, and I had to bite my tongue. I am not mad about the money, a mullet takes real work to blend right, but my clippers are getting a workout on the same taper five times a day. I also noticed the same thing with the younger crowd asking for the burst fade to stay tight around the ear, which stacked on top of the mullet makes for a strange shape. Anybody else seeing a run like this in their shop, or is it just my town? Curious if this is a fluke weekend or if I should just get used to it.
