TIL a quick trick for blending a stubborn cowlick on a kid's haircut
This 8 year old client had a cowlick right at his crown that always stuck up, and his mom said the last three haircuts didn't fix it. I tried holding my thinning shears almost flat and just skimming the very tips of the hair in that spot, and it laid down perfectly without losing length. Has anyone else found a specific technique for dealing with tricky cowlicks on fine hair?

Oh nice, that thinning shear trick is solid! I've had luck using a little paste on damp hair, then blow-drying it down flat with a brush. The heat sets it in place without making it crunchy.

Is that why my mom's old advice about "low and slow" applies to basically everything from cooking to haircare? Seems like there's a cheat code for half the stuff in life and it's always just using less heat and taking your time.
