Spent 3 hours on a zero fade that should've taken 45 minutes

Had a client come in last Thursday wanting a skin fade with a hard part, but his hair was way thicker than what I usually work with and the clippers kept snagging on the cowlick near his crown. I mean, I ended up having to switch to my Andis Masters and go over the blend four times before it looked even close to clean. Anyone else hit those random hair types that just wreck your whole schedule for the day?
