Showerthought: I swapped from a cheap bulk clipper oil to a proper brand and the difference is huge
My old Wahl clippers started running hot and loud after 6 months, but the Andis Cool Care stuff keeps them quiet and cool for over a year now. Anyone else found a specific product that saved a piece of gear?

Yeah, it makes you wonder what's actually in the cheap stuff. Is it just low grade mineral oil that gums everything up over time, or are the good brands adding something else to help with cooling and lubrication?

Totally get this. I had the same thing happen with my old beard trimmer. It was a cheap store brand oil and the motor sounded like an angry bee after a few months. Switched to the actual Oster oil made for clippers and it was like getting a new tool. The difference in how smooth it runs and how much longer the blades stay sharp is crazy. I'm convinced the right oil is half the battle with keeping those things alive.
