Shoutout to the barber who told me to slow down my fades

I heard this older barber in Dallas tell his apprentice that rushing fades leads to choppy blends, and it finally clicked for me. I used to jam through a fade in 15 minutes, but now I take a full 30 and actually step back to check my work between guards. Made a huge difference on my last three cuts, especially on coarse hair. Anybody else have a simple tip that changed how they work?

A bad haircut can mess with your confidence for weeks though. People really underestimate how much of your identity gets wrapped up in how you look. Sure, @emery965, it's not life or death but that doesn't mean it's totally meaningless either. Small stuff still matters when you have to live with it every day. Don't you think people act like something's only important if it's literally saving lives?
