PSA: My clipper blade flew off mid-fade on a kid in the chair yesterday

I was doing a skin fade on a 10 year old in downtown Austin when my Wahl blade guard popped off and hit the floor, had to switch to my backup clipper mid-section and the kid's mom was not amused, has anyone else had a blade guard fail on them at the worst possible moment?

Saw a barber on YouTube say he always loosens his blade guard before a fade now after one flew off mid-taper on him.

Dude ONE flew off mid-taper? That's absolutely wild. I can just picture a clipper blade launching across the room like a little ninja star while the guy's got half his head done. Bet that barber checks his guard like five times now before every single haircut. Can't imagine having that happen with a straight razor or something, that's nightmare fuel right there.
