I still prefer the old lever chairs over today's hydraulic ones

They just felt more solid and reliable. I've had a hydraulic chair fail mid-haircut, but my old lever one never let me down.

The old steel lever mechanism was just a simple piece of metal you could trust. Hydraulic cylinders have seals and fluid that can leak or wear out over time. That basic mechanical action just gave you a sense of total control that's hard to find now.

My barber still uses the old lever chair and I swear it's the only thing in the shop that hasn't broken. You can't put a price on not getting stuck in the down position.
