I finally tried eco-friendly clipper oil and it turned into a sticky mess

Decided to make my shop more sustainable by switching clipper oils. The new plant based one sounded great on the bottle. Halfway through a tight fade, the clippers just seized up completely. The client had to sit there while I cleaned them, looking like a lopsided mop. Now I'm back to the old oil, but I still want to find a better green option.

My buddy had the exact same thing happen with his new "green" oil last month. He was doing a detailed design on the side of a guy's head and the clippers just gummed up solid. Said the poor guy walked out looking like a half finished puzzle. Honestly it set his whole day back trying to clean all his gear. Tbh he went right back to the old reliable stuff too, said the risk isn't worth it. Sometimes the new eco stuff just ain't ready for real work.

Thought eco-oil was better? This changed my mind.

Yeah but what was the actual brand he used... because I've seen some of that stuff work fine if it's the right formula. Was it just a bad bottle or is the whole "eco" line from that company junk? Makes you wonder if they even test it on real clippers before they sell it.
