Hit 1,000 cuts last month and it hit me harder than I expected

I count every haircut I do in a little notebook I keep by my station. Last month I crossed 1,000 since I started counting back in 2021. I thought it would just be a number, but it made me realize how many repeat clients I actually have now, which is wild because I was basically starting from zero out of barber school in Cleveland. It also showed me I'm way faster with fades than I used to be, like almost half the time on some styles. Has anyone else kept a running count of their cuts, and did it change how you look at your work when you hit a milestone?

My buddy Marcus did the same thing at his shop in Akron. He hit 800 cuts around two years in and started going through his books, and it turned out like 60 percent of his clients were repeats by then. What really got him was seeing how many guys had been with him since his first month, some of them he barely remembered cutting because he was so nervous back then. He said it made him stop worrying about chasing new people and just focus on the ones already in his chair.
