Found out over 60% of my clients prefer a straight razor neck shave over clippers

I was doing some research online for a new razor and stumbled across a barber survey from 2023. It said 63% of guys actually ask for a straight razor finish on the neck, not clippers. That blew my mind cause in my chair it feels like 50/50 at best. Maybe I'm just not asking the right way. Any of you track what your clients actually want?

Hear you on this one, it's totally weird how those numbers can feel so different from what you see day to day. I'd guess maybe guys just don't want to sound fussy or they're not sure what to ask for (especially if they're new to a nice barber). Either way, it's a good reminder to just ask them straight up how they want it done.

Yeah totally, I'm the same way. My barber will ask what number I want and I'll just shrug and say "uhh like a 2 on the sides and trim the top" which tells him nothing. One time he did a 1 on the sides and I looked like I was going to boot camp. Another time I said a 3 and it barely looked different from my before. Now I just show him a picture on my phone and let him figure it out. Works way better than guessing with numbers.
