First time using a straight razor on a full beard trim and it worked

I had a client come in last Saturday who wanted his beard cleaned up but not shaved off. I normally use my clippers for that, but I decided to try a straight razor just on the edges and neckline. The lines came out way sharper than I expected and the guy said it was the best trim he'd had in five years. Anyone else prefer a straight razor for beard detailing over clippers?

Honestly? I used to think straight razors were overkill for just cleaning up a beard. Figured clippers could handle it fine and the razor risk wasn't worth it. Then I tried it on my own beard last month for the neckline and jawline. Total game changer. The difference is night and day. Clippers leave those tiny little rough spots but a straight razor just glides and gives you a perfect edge. Now I won't touch a beard with anything else unless the guy wants it shaved off completely.

Nah, clippers give a cleaner line in my experience.
