Blade chatter on a chipped guard taught me a new trick
Last month at a shop in Austin, this older barber showed me a hack while I was fighting with a chipped guard on my clippers. He wrapped a thin strip of electrical tape around the guard's base before snapping it on, and it killed the blade chatter almost instantly. The tape fills the tiny gap from the chip, so the guard sits snug and stays put mid-fade. I tried it on three cuts since and it made a huge difference, especially on tight tapers. Has anyone else got a quick fix like this for worn-out guards?
