Appreciation post: My old boss in Tampa said to never use a straight razor on a dry neck

Three years ago, I was working at a shop on Florida Avenue and he saw me go in dry for a clean up. He stopped me and said, 'You're just asking for razor burn.' I started using a hot towel and pre-shave oil on every neck line after that. It adds maybe 90 seconds to the service, but the difference is huge. Anyone else get taught a 'rule' they now break with better results?

Dry shaving taught me to always trust the old rules.

Sam, that's a lesson learned with blood.

Yeah same thing happened to me last month. Thought I could save time before work and ended up with a bloody mess all over my neck. Old school routines exist for a reason, learned that one the hard way.
