Switching from volume measurements to grams changed my bread overnight

Used to scoop flour with cups for 7 years and got random crumb sizes every batch, then I bought a $15 scale from the hardware store in Tulsa and now every loaf is identical, has anyone else had that stubborn 'it's been fine this way' feeling before making the jump?

Man, I heard this same thing from a buddy who bakes sourdough and he kept telling me to weigh my ingredients for months before I caved. Now I get why people get so preachy about it. A cup of flour can vary by like 20 grams depending on how you scoop it, that's a huge difference in a loaf. My hydration levels stopped being a guess and it fixed way more than just crumb size, the crust got better too.
