Spent $60 on a fancy dough scraper and it's just a hunk of metal
Picked up that curved stainless steel scraper from a baking supply shop last month thinking it'd change my bench work forever, and honestly my old $5 plastic one does the same job. Has anyone else paid way too much for a tool that didn't actually improve anything?

Return that thing tomorrow. A dough scraper is just a bent piece of steel, spend the refund on a decent kitchen scale instead.

My buddy Tom bought one of those fancy ones and it warped in the dishwasher within a month.

Did you see that article about bamboo cutting boards vs plastic the other day? I read this one blog where a guy tested like 20 different cutting boards and said the bamboo ones are actually way too hard on knives, but they do look nice in photos. Your friend's fancy board warping sounds about right though, especially if it was one of those end grain ones that claim to be "dishwasher safe" but aren't really. I had a similar thing happen with a wooden spoon set I got on Amazon last year.
